Obituary

Georgia Mae Baker Price-McGlory was born in Garvin Wynnewood, Oklahoma on April 23, 1922 to Elmo Baker and Elizabeth Knowley.  She was the last of their 13 children. Georgia married in 1938 to Rodgrey Price in which they had four children: Dorothy, Warren, Bill, and Janis.  After the passing of her husband, she married Leo McGlory in 1950 in which they had six children: Leda, Clovia, Teresa, Ronald, Veeta, and Betra Kaye.
In Oklahoma, Georgia was well known for her contributions to the community as a business owner of a cafe and cleaners. In 1957, Georgia moved to Compton, California in which she raised her 10 children. Georgia was a conscientious and meticulous person who enjoyed learning; at the age of 57 she went to Business College to become a clerk typist.  She was employed for many years as a typist and record keeper for Pacific Tube in Los Angeles, California. Georgia was always an active person who loved interacting with people to build and enhance the quality of life. She was the community Avon lady providing beauty and comfort to so many. She was a worker in the community setting up voting sites and participating in community clubs such as the Friendship Club, The Dollarhide Senior Center, Henry Herriford Senior Club, The Avalon Church of Christ Senior Activity Group, Avalon Church of Christ Thursday Bible study and many other church and community activities.  Georgia was a devoted Christian. One of the key things that she always spoke of was her mother's devotion to God and how she always was with her mother attending church as a child and how Great God is.  Georgia was a dedicated Christian mother and friend to many, giving generously of her time and talents. Her self-determination to set a good Christian example for people is seen in her devotion to church attendance, bible study and sharing the word of God.
Georgia passed away January 3, 2016 at Promise Hospital in Paramount, California at the age of 93 still pushing to live another day.  Her Look! Her Smile! Her Laughter! Her Wit! and her general warm-heartedness will be missed.  She leaves to cherish her memory, her seven remaining children: Dorothy, Janis, Leda, Clovia, Teresa, Ronald and Veeta Mae.  Furthermore her 16 grandchildren: Georgiana, Leslie, Aaron, Sanya, Javas, Alvis Sr., Christina, Paula, Sheveeta, Lavern, Latersa, Antonie, Ronda, Ronald Jr., Quianna, and Jovan.
